Charlotte Sloan, Legal Director, Birketts
Charlotte is a Legal Director in the employment team at Birketts.
She qualified as a solicitor in 2009 and has been working in the southern offices of the large national law firm for the past 10 years.
Charlotte predominately advises employers on a wide variety of contentious and non-contentious aspects of employment law and acts.
Specialising in supporting clients in the education sector including colleges and independent schools, Charlotte has a strong understanding of the nuances of employment law specific to the sector and issues that commonly arise.
She has vast amounts of expertise in helping employers to strategically and commercially resolve disputes with employees and assisting organisations in promoting a positive culture for staff, supporting many organisations with employment law training on topics from diversity and inclusion to grievances, disciplinaries and performance management to how to retain and attract staff.
In addition to providing advice on day-to-day employment law issues, tribunal proceedings and disputes and drafting employment documentation, Charlotte has considerable experience advising on employment status issues including in connection with IR35 and on the employment aspects of ESG.
