Louise Cooper, British Chartered Financial Analyst
Louise started her career at Goldman Sachs as a stockbroker and then moving from one extreme to another she become a business journalist at BBC World Service Radio.
When the Eurozone financial crisis hit, Louise was working as a market analyst at the interdealer broker BGC. Her ability to clearly communicate the complex and too often catastrophic events made her a go-to financial, business and economics commentator for UK and global news media. Dubbed the ‘Downturn Diva’ by the Daily Mail, Louise became a well-used commentator/interviewee including being on the first ever full female Newsnight.
For many years, Louise presented BBC5Live’s Wake Up To Money and BBC Radio 4’s Money Box Live and wrote for various newspapers, including a regular business/money column for both The Times and The Spectator.
Described as “passionate, animated and knowledgeable” with the ability to read the dry figures and get to the real story lurking beneath. Louise has an in-depth financial knowledge and the great skill of making the complicated comprehensible.
In the last couple of years, Louise has decided to retrain as a teacher and lecturer to pass on her expertise and experience and give back to society. Louise is currently employed as a Senior Lecturer in Finance at Kingston University Business School with a specialism in employability.
