Sheffield City Council are seeking two highly organised and motivated Business Support Officers to join their Environment and Regulatory Services team. This role is crucial in managing enquiries, processing applications, and handling information in a highly regulated field including Food Hygiene, Infectious Diseases, and more. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, be adept at using IT systems, and capable of handling sensitive information in a fast-paced environment.
Day-to-day of the role:
Manage and process a high volume of enquiries and applications related to various regulatory services.
Maintain and assist with the development of information systems and related procedures.
Organise and support complex meetings, including diary management and accurate record-keeping.
Handle telephone enquiries, ensuring effective and efficient customer service.
Manage data and service or technical information using bespoke IT packages and standard applications like Word and Excel.
Participate in the migration to new systems, maintaining high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
Order, store, and distribute goods and services, and manage financial recording systems.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Proven experience in a business support role, preferably within a regulatory or similar environment.
Strong proficiency in IT applications, including bespoke packages, Word, and Excel.
Excellent organisational skills to manage a busy workload and respond to urgent requests.
Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to handle sensitive information.
Confidence in using multiple systems and contributing to the transition to new systems.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
