Sheffield City Council are seeking a proactive Business Support Officer to join their dynamic Hub Team. This role involves providing effective administration and business process support to both internal and external customers. If you are a team player with a keen eye for detail and excellent communication skills, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Carry out a wide range of administrative tasks including general printing, copying, and post duties.
  • Manage data input using Excel and specific IT systems used by our services.
  • Handle document management, both electronic and hard copy.
  • Support financial tasks such as ordering, processing payments, and reconciling payments.
  • Produce letters and email correspondence to customers.
  • Provide phone cover as required.
  • Support and contribute to Information Systems and office administration.
  • Assist in meetings and events, including note-taking and recording action points.
  • Purchase goods and services as needed.
  • Provide advice and information to enhance the effectiveness of the service area.
  • Engage in a culture of continuous improvement across the service.
  • Perform any other duties as required that fall within the scope and grade of the position.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with computer systems and applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Comfortable learning new systems.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks, work to deadlines, and follow standard operating procedures.
  • Flexibility to attend sites and provide business support to other teams within the Hub as needed.
