A leading organisation is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join them on a temporary basis, supporting the delivery of high standards across health, safety, and environmental compliance.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive HSE professional to step into a varied role, working closely with senior stakeholders and contributing to the development of robust systems and best practice frameworks.
The Role
Reporting into the Health & Safety Manager, you’ll act as a trusted advisor across the business, providing expert guidance and ensuring compliance with current legislation and recognised standards (e.g. ISO frameworks).
You will play a key role in driving continuous improvement, supporting operational teams, and embedding a strong health & safety culture throughout the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Build strong relationships with internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders to promote best practice in HSE
Maintain and improve Health, Safety & Environmental management systems
Provide expert advice and guidance across a range of HSE matters
Support and deliver audit and inspection programmes
Assist in producing performance reports and analysing trends
Support projects and transformation initiatives within Engineering and Estates functions
Lead or contribute to incident investigations and ensure robust follow-up actions
Oversee and support risk assessments across operational areas
Monitor compliance activities such as air and noise sampling
Assist with occupational health and health surveillance processes
Support specialist safety disciplines where required
About You
You’ll be an experienced Health & Safety professional with a strong working knowledge of legislation and hands-on experience within complex operational environments.
Essential:
NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent)
Strong knowledge of current health & safety legislation and ISO standards
Experience managing risk assessments across varied environments
Familiarity with COSHH regulations
Proven ability to analyse data and produce meaningful reports
Strong IT skills (MS Office)
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Desirable:
Experience within engineering, manufacturing, or estates environments
Knowledge of CDM Regulations and DSEAR
Experience implementing new systems and processes
Exposure to health surveillance programmes
SharePoint experience
