Location: Glasgow (Remote / Field Based)
Salary: £33,000 - £35,000 DOE + Commission + Company Car

The Opportunity

A well-established and growing wholesale business is seeking an ambitious and commercially driven Area Sales Manager to join its field sales team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated sales professional to manage an established customer base while developing new business opportunities across Scotland. The business supplies a wide range of products to forecourts, convenience stores and independent retailers, offering customers competitive pricing, promotional support and exceptional service.

The Role

As an Area Sales Manager, you will be responsible for driving sales growth across your territory through a combination of account management and new business development.

You will build strong relationships with customers, identify opportunities to increase product penetration and support clients in maximising their commercial performance.

This is a home-based, field-focused role requiring regular customer visits throughout your designated area.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and develop an existing portfolio of retail and convenience customers.
• Identify, target and secure new business opportunities across the territory.
• Build strong relationships with key decision-makers and business owners.
• Promote a broad range of products, services and promotional campaigns.
• Conduct regular face-to-face customer meetings to increase sales and customer engagement.
• Deliver against agreed sales, margin and growth targets.
• Negotiate commercial agreements and pricing opportunities.
• Monitor competitor activity and industry trends.
• Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and sales activity.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure excellent customer service.
• Produce regular sales forecasts and pipeline updates.

What We're Looking For

Essential

• Proven experience in a field-based sales or territory management role.
• Strong track record of delivering and exceeding sales targets.
• Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
• Experience managing customer accounts and developing new business.
• Commercially minded with strong negotiation skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Full, Clean UK Driving Licence.

Desirable

• Experience within wholesale, FMCG, convenience retail, foodservice or forecourt sectors.
• Existing relationships within independent retail or convenience markets.
• Knowledge of the Scottish retail landscape.
• Experience using CRM systems and sales reporting tools.
