RECEPTIONIST & ADMINISTRATOR

- Hours: Full-time, Monday to Thursday 8:00am - 4:00pm, Friday 8:00am - 3:30pm
This is an excellent temporary-to-permanent opportunity for an experienced Receptionist and Administrator to join a well-established organisation based in Newcastle upon Tyne. Following an initial temporary period, there is the potential for the role to become permanent for the right candidate. Working within a busy office environment, you will be the first point of contact for visitors, clients and colleagues, delivering a professional and welcoming reception service whilst providing comprehensive administrative support across the organisation.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Provide a professional, friendly and welcoming reception service for all visitors, clients and stakeholders.
- Manage incoming telephone calls, radio communications and general enquiries efficiently.
- Ensure the reception area remains clean, organised and presented to a high standard at all times.
- Respond to enquiries promptly, directing visitors and communications to the appropriate team members.
- Provide administrative support to the HR function, administration team and wider business.
- Maintain accurate records, documents, databases and filing systems.
- Prepare, distribute and file correspondence, reports and documentation.
- Handle confidential information with professionalism, discretion and accuracy.
- Support the smooth day-to-day operation of the organisation through effective administration.
- Manage a varied workload, prioritising tasks and meeting competing deadlines.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across multiple departments.
- Provide general office support and assist with additional administrative duties as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Previous experience within a Receptionist, Administrator, Front of House, Customer Service or Office Support position.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Professional and welcoming manner when dealing with visitors, colleagues and external stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a varied workload effectively.
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
- Confident user of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Ability to work independently whilst contributing positively to a team environment.
- Strong customer service skills and a proactive approach to problem solving.
