Role Overview
We are seeking a friendly, professional, and organised Receptionist to be the first point of contact for our business in Brighton. This role is essential in creating a positive and welcoming experience for visitors, clients, and staff, while ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of front-of-house operations.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a confident telephone manner, and a proactive approach to administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Front-of-House Duties
Greet visitors and clients in a professional and welcoming manner
Manage the reception area, ensuring it is tidy and presentable at all times
Handle incoming calls, transferring them to the appropriate departments
Administration & Support
Manage incoming and outgoing post and deliveries
Maintain visitor logs and security procedures
Provide general administrative support to the wider team
Scheduling & Coordination
Book meeting rooms and manage office calendars
Coordinate refreshments and setup for meetings where required
Assist with internal events or office activities
Communication
Act as a key point of contact for enquiries via phone, email, and in person
Ensure messages are accurately recorded and passed on promptly
Liaise with internal teams and external visitors
Office Support
Monitor office supplies and place orders when needed
Support the Office Manager with general day-to-day operations
Assist with onboarding of new starters (e.g. access passes, desk setup)
Skills & Experience
Essential
Previous experience in a receptionist, front-of-house, or customer-facing role
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organisational and multitasking abilities
Professional and friendly manner
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
Desirable
Experience in a corporate or office environment
Familiarity with switchboard or phone systems
Experience supporting administrative or office management tasks
