Knowledge of debt recovery and enforcement processes, including experience with County Court and/or Magistrates’ Court procedures. Proven experience working in a Local Authority debt recovery role, specifically handling Council Tax arrears (essential). Requirements Previous hands-on experience in Council Tax recovery within a Local Authority is essential. Familiarity with systems such as NEC and/or Oracle Advanced Collections is highly desirable. Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to pass a Basic DBS check. Day-to-day of the role: Retrieve and compile supporting documentation (primarily invoices) for audit sample testing. Liaise with internal teams to obtain missing or incomplete documentation in a timely manner. Organise and maintain a clear audit file structure for efficient document tracking. Respond promptly to auditor requests and follow up on outstanding queries. Cross-check invoices to accounting records to ensure completeness and accuracy of submissions.
