Legal Secretary - Wills and Probate
- Annual Salary: £25 - £27,000 with flexibility for an experienced candidate

- Job Type: Permanent, Full-time Monday to Friday 9-5pm with a level of flexible on this.

We are seeking a Secretary to support our clients Wills & Probate team, where empathy, accuracy, and professionalism are paramount.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Supporting fee earners to ensure files progress efficiently and compliantly.
- Producing and amending legal documents and correspondence through digital dictation/audio typing and copy typing.
- Preparing probate and estate administration documentation, forms, and client packs.
- Opening, maintaining, and closing files in line with firm procedures, including onboarding and AML checks support.
- Managing fee earners' diaries, appointments, meetings, and client communications.
- Handling incoming calls and emails, taking accurate messages, and dealing with queries professionally.
- Managing document control including scanning, saving, filing, bundling, and ensuring version control.
- Liaising with clients, executors, beneficiaries, third parties, and other professionals.
- Supporting billing, time recording, matter administration, and general file housekeeping.
- Assisting the team to meet deadlines and ensure matters move forward smoothly.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong administrative or secretarial background, ideally within a professional services setting (legal, accountancy, finance, property, or medical/NHS).
- Warm, professional demeanor, especially during sensitive interactions.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritise a busy workload and meet deadlines.
- Clear communicator with strong written skills.
- IT proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office; legal case management experience is a bonus.
- Discretion and trustworthiness with confidential information.
- Proactive, helpful attitude, eager to contribute to team success.
