We are seeking a Solicitor or Licensed Conveyancer to join our client's non-contentious property transactions team. This role involves assisting and supporting the business in handling a broad spectrum of non-contentious matters, primarily focusing on residential property transactions, commercial projects, and ad-hoc legal queries. The role requires excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Manage a caseload of transactions from instruction through to completion, liaising with internal clients, stakeholders, leaseholders, solicitors, local authorities, and other third parties.
  • Draft and negotiate lease extensions, new leases, transfers, contracts for sale and purchase, portfolio contracts, easements, and various other deeds, licences, and agreements.
  • Handle complex land registry applications and unregistered titles.
  • Work on and assist with business projects as required.
  • Deal with commercial contract matters and assist with drafting commercial agreements.
  • Deliver timely and concise commercial advice to the business of a consistently high standard.
  • Perform legal due diligence on matters such as interpretation of leases, deeds, and other property title documents.
  • Conduct legal research and assist with the creation and maintenance of legal precedents.
  • Provide support to the Head of Legal Transactions and the Litigation Team as necessary.
  • Support team members and stay updated with professional ethics, regulatory rules, and legislative changes.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years post-qualification experience in residential conveyancing and non-contentious property work.
  • Self-starter, enthusiastic, excellent communicator, and a creative thinker.
  • Knowledge of the Building Safety Act 2022, construction, and remediation projects is desirable.
  • Experience in enfranchisement and wayleaves is preferred.
  • Experience in commercial/business contracts is preferred.
  • High degree of integrity and reliability.
  • Solid understanding of conveyancing procedures and relevant property law.
  • Ability to draft various legal documents and understand their implications.
  • Ability to work meticulously and accurately within a professional code of conduct.
  • Good organisational skills, ability to meet deadlines, advise, and negotiate effectively.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and multitask in a high-volume environment.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Packages and in-house property management database and case systems.
  • Ability to work productively in both large and small teams, often in a cross-disciplinary environment.
