With over 60 years of experience, our company offers an outstanding combination of competitive prices and exceptional customer service. We are looking for a dedicated Driver to join our dynamic team.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Carry out a vehicle walkaround check before using any company vehicle.
- Execute deliveries as planned by the Route Planner/Transport Supervisory Team.
- Ensure the correct quantities are delivered for each order, amending discrepancies on the POD FATHER system at the point of delivery.
- Responsible for collecting payments via chip and pin machines from customers where applicable and collecting cheques.
- Record all daily returns, overloads, pallets, and ensure all items like phones, chip and pin, customer keys are returned to the supervisors/warehouse office.
- Manage and recycle all empty pallets, plastic, and cardboard using the bailer within the warehouse.
- Clean, refuel, and check the vehicle daily before parking and locking the vehicle within the designated area in the yard.
- Download digital driver’s cards at the end of each week and ensure all time spent on duty is recorded accurately.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Class 2 Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) licence.
- Multi-drop experience.
- Confidence, self-motivation, and enthusiasm.
- Good knowledge of road networks.
- Excellent customer relations skills.
- Be a good team player.
- Valid DQC/CPC card.
- Excellent knowledge of driver’s hours regulations.
