An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Buyer to join a leading manufacturer based in South Wales.

This role sits within an established procurement and supply chain team and will play a key part in ensuring material availability, supplier performance, inventory optimisation and continuous improvement across a complex international supply network.

We are looking for a proactive and analytical supply chain professional who enjoys problem-solving, supplier engagement and driving operational efficiencies in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Expedite critical materials and components to support operational requirements
  • Drive lead time reduction initiatives with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Identify and resolve supply chain issues through effective problem-solving techniques
  • Support cost reduction and inventory optimisation projects
  • Source, assess and onboard new suppliers as required
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to improve performance and service levels
  • Produce reports, presentations and analysis to support decision-making
  • Utilise ERP/MRP systems to manage supply chain activity and reporting
  • Contribute to global supply chain and logistics improvement initiatives
  • Support purchasing process development and continuous improvement activities
  • Generate system-based reports and performance metrics
  • Analyse supply chain data and provide KPI reporting
  • Monitor market conditions and identify potential supply risks or constraints
  • Work cross-functionally to support service-level performance and forecasting activities
  • Develop reporting tools to support delivery and operational performance targets

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience within procurement, supply chain, purchasing or materials planning
  • Degree qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Operations Management or a related discipline is desirable but not essential
  • CIPS qualification or working towards accreditation
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent organisational and analytical abilities
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems (SAP experience advantageous)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint

39-hour week. Following an initial training and onboarding period (six months), you'll move to a hybrid working pattern of 4 days in the office and 1 day from home.
