Accounts Payable Manager

  • £38,000 - £42,000 per annum

  •  18-Month Fixed-Term Contract

Reed Accountancy are recruiting on behalf of a large, multi-site organisation for an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to join their finance team on an 18-month fixed-term contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional with strong accounts payable and team management experience to take ownership of a high-volume function, drive process improvements, and ensure a first-class service is delivered across the business.

The Role

  • Reporting into senior finance management, your responsibilities will include:
  • Leading and developing the Accounts Payable team.
  • Managing the end-to-end purchase ledger process.
  • Ensuring supplier payments are processed accurately and on time.
  • Overseeing reconciliations and maintaining strong financial controls.
  • Managing cash management activities and associated financial processes.
  • Producing operational reports and performance information.
  • Monitoring key performance indicators and driving continuous improvement.
  • Building strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Identifying and implementing efficiencies within finance processes and systems.
  • Supporting month-end activities and wider finance projects as required.

Requirements

  • Previous experience managing an Accounts Payable or Purchase Ledger function.
  • Experience leading, coaching and developing finance staff.
  • Strong reconciliation and controls experience.
  • Excellent Excel and analytical skills.
  • Experience working within a high-volume transactional finance environment.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive approach with a focus on improving processes and service delivery.
