Warehouse Team Leader

Location: Redditch
Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm
(1-hour lunch break or 30-minute lunch plus two 15-minute breaks)

Our client is a well-established food manufacturing business specialising in the sourcing, processing, and preservation of seafood products. We are currently recruiting for an experienced Warehouse Team Leader to join a fast-paced food manufacturing and distribution environment in Redditch. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader with warehouse experience and a valid FLT licence who is passionate about maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and team performance. 

The role involves working within a chilled environment alongside seafood product, ensuring customer orders are picked, dispatched, and delivered to the highest standards. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing organisation that plays a key role in supplying fresh seafood products to some of the region's leading supermarket brands.

Essential Requirements

• Valid FLT (Forklift Truck) Licence
• Previous warehouse experience, ideally within a food manufacturing, distribution, or FMCG environment
• Experience leading or supervising warehouse teams
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety and food hygiene practices
• Ability to work effectively in a chilled/cold room environment
• Good communication and organisational skills

Key Responsibilities:

- Team Leadership

• Lead, motivate, and organise a warehouse team to achieve daily picking and dispatch targets.
• Ensure all tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and on time.

- Warehouse Operations

• Ensure products are picked and dispatched accurately while meeting quality and customer requirements.
• Monitor picking performance, productivity, and dispatch schedules.

- Health, Safety & Food Hygiene

• Promote a safe working culture across the warehouse operation.
• Ensure all team members are trained and authorised to use equipment safely.

- Quality & Compliance

• Ensure all quality procedures and food safety standards are followed.
• Complete and monitor temperature records and related documentation.

- Inventory & Equipment Control

• Manage warehouse equipment and maintain accurate records.
• Conduct stock checks and report discrepancies.

- Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance productivity.
• Support operational improvement initiatives and projects.
