Production Line Leader (Peterborough) – Temp to Perm

Location: Peterborough
Contract: 12-week Temp to Perm
Pay Rate: £13.50 per hour PAYE
Equivalent Salary: Approximately £26,676 per annum (based on 38 hours per week)
Working Hours: Monday to Thursday, 6:00am – 4:30pm (1-hour unpaid break)
Hours: 38 hours per week

The Role

A food manufacturing business in Peterborough is seeking a hands-on Production Line Leader to support the efficient running of production operations and packing lines.

You will supervise production operatives, ensure production targets are achieved, maintain quality standards, and ensure products are packed accurately and on time. The role also involves basic machine operation and problem-solving, maintaining health and safety standards, and supporting warehouse operations when required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support production operatives on shift.
  • Ensure production plans are completed on time and to specification.
  • Operate and monitor packing line equipment.
  • Complete production paperwork and administration accurately.
  • Carry out quality checks as required.
  • Monitor productivity and performance against targets.
  • Ensure Health & Safety procedures are followed.
  • Oversee cleaning schedules and hygiene standards.
  • Communicate production issues and non-conformances promptly.
  • Liaise with warehouse teams to ensure materials are available when needed.

Candidate Requirements

Essential

  • Previous experience leading or supervising teams within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Positive, self-motivated team player.

Desirable

  • Food manufacturing experience.
  • Food hygiene knowledge.
  • Basic machinery maintenance experience.
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent).
