Join a global leader in non-disruptive geotechnical ground improvement solutions, as a Transport Manager. Based in our Hatfield office, this role is crucial for managing our fleet operations across the UK and Ireland, ensuring compliance with legal standards and enhancing operational efficiency.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Oversee the management of vehicles, equipment maintenance, and depot operations throughout the UK & Ireland.
  • Ensure all vehicle operators comply with the company’s driving policy and legal standards.
  • Coordinate with contracts managers, supervisory technicians, and the operations team to uphold HSE and DOT standards.
  • Produce weekly and monthly management reports on depot status and vehicle maintenance.
  • Manage fitters to maintain vehicles and equipment to statutory standards.
  • Monitor safety standards at depots and report any concerns to the SHEQ Director.
  • Attend weekly scheduling meetings to advise on vehicle usage and transportation issues.
  • Manage maintenance of all injection equipment and tools.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in fleet management and managing high-volume operations.
  • Strong background in transport and driver management, including compliance with vehicle fleets.
  • Experience managing drivers according to the Working Time Directive and using automated tachometers and vehicle management IT systems.
  • Transport Manager CPC, Full Car and Motorcycle Licence, HGV Class C Licence.
  • Counterbalance Forklift Truck Licence, Reach Forklift Truck Licence.
  • First Aider certification.
  • Excellent organizational skills, resilience, and the ability to manage change effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to manage teams and liaise with senior management.
