The Role
As a Trade Counter Sales Advisor, you will be the first point of contact for trade and retail customers visiting the branch. You will be responsible for providing product advice, processing sales orders, building customer relationships, and ensuring customers receive an outstanding service experience.
This is a varied position that combines customer service, sales, administration, and branch support duties within a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Welcome and assist customers visiting the trade counter
• Provide product information and technical guidance where appropriate
• Process sales orders accurately using internal systems
• Generate quotations and follow up on sales enquiries
• Build and maintain strong relationships with trade customers
• Handle telephone and email enquiries professionally
• Support stock control and merchandising activities within the branch
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve branch sales targets and customer service objectives
Skills & Experience Required
• Previous experience in a trade counter, sales, customer service, or builders' merchant environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to build rapport with customers and identify sales opportunities
• Good IT skills and experience using order processing systems
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Knowledge of construction, plumbing, electrical, timber, or building products would be advantageous
