Business Development Executive

  • Hourly Rate: £18 + Bonus
  • Location: Fully Remote (UK Travel Required)

We are excited to offer an opportunity for an ambitious Business Development Executive to join a growing organisation within the professional membership, events, and compliance sector. This role is perfect for a commercially minded individual who thrives on driving revenue growth through event sales, sponsorships, and building strong commercial partnerships.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Event & Sponsorship Sales: Sell exhibition stands, sponsorship packages, and partnership opportunities across a diverse events portfolio. Promote additional commercial opportunities including webinars, content partnerships, awards, and engagement initiatives. Tailor solutions that align with client objectives and clearly articulate the value of audience reach, thought leadership opportunities, and industry connections.
  • New Business Development: Identify and engage prospective exhibitors, sponsors, and commercial partners through outbound prospecting via phone, email, LinkedIn, and networking. Research organisations to understand their objectives and commercial priorities. Build relationships with key decision-makers across relevant sectors and maintain a healthy pipeline of opportunities.
  • Account Management: Develop and maintain long-term relationships with existing clients and partners. Proactively identify opportunities to grow account value and drive renewals and repeat business. Conduct post-event reviews to identify future partnership opportunities.
  • Sales Cycle Management: Manage the entire sales cycle from initial prospecting to renewal discussions, including needs analysis, proposal creation, and commercial negotiation.
  • Networking & Industry Engagement: Attend conferences, exhibitions, and networking events across the UK to meet clients face-to-face and strengthen existing relationships. Represent the organisation at industry events and partner meetings.
  • CRM & Pipeline Management: Maintain accurate sales records and forecasts in the CRM system. Ensure all opportunities are actively progressed and provide accurate pipeline reporting.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in event sales, exhibition sales, sponsorship sales, media sales, commercial partnerships, membership sales, or B2B business development.
  • Strong relationship-building and networking skills, with the ability to sell to senior stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Experience managing a sales pipeline effectively and working towards revenue targets.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work remotely and willingness to travel for client meetings and events.
