REED Business Support are representing our client who are seeking a dedicated Technician for their Support Services team to provide essential support during a 12-week period. This role is crucial in maintaining the smooth operation of their Central Labs in Huntingdon. The successful candidate will be instrumental in supporting the Support Services Manager and ensuring efficient procurement and facility management.
Day-to-day of the role:
Provide support to the Support Services Manager.
Ensure all visitors to the site are signed in and supervised during their visit.
Prepare meeting rooms and ensure all consumables are available.
Inform staff of deliveries and manage procurement activities including SAP ordering.
Monitor temporary staff contracts/orders and manage day-to-day operations of contracts for the supply of lab chemicals and equipment.
Serve as the first point of contact for any enquiries relating to ordering or delivery of goods and services.
Address general lab service queries and maintain SAP in line with training and guidance.
Keep accurate and current records of spend and maintain monthly standard reports.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Excellent communication skills, able to interact effectively with people at all levels.
Reliable and committed to high standards of job performance.
Experience in handling account queries, processing payments, and providing customer support.
SAP training is highly desirable.
Strong ability to assist customers over the phone and in person.
Effective prioritisation skills and accurate data input into various databases and spreadsheets.
Confident telephone manner.
