Digital Communications Officer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Digital Communications Officer to join a well-established arts and cultural organisation based in Newcastle on a temporary basis. This role will play a key part in delivering engaging digital communications, managing social media channels, and creating compelling content that drives audience engagement and supports a varied programme of events and activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and managing digital content, maintaining online platforms, supporting marketing campaigns, and ensuring a consistent brand voice across all communication channels. 

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Manage and coordinate the organisation's core social media channels.
  • Plan and deliver social media campaigns to support events, productions, and wider organisational activities.
  • Monitor and respond to messages, comments, and enquiries across social platforms.
  • Create and schedule engaging content for social media, website, and email marketing campaigns.
  • Repurpose content across multiple formats, including posts, stories, reels, and short-form video content.
  • Design and produce marketing materials for both digital and print channels.
  • Maintain and update website content, ensuring information remains accurate and engaging.
  • Develop digital assets to support marketing and communications activities.
  • Produce high-quality written content while maintaining a consistent tone of voice.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support communications and marketing objectives.
  • Support audience growth and engagement through effective use of digital channels.
  • Contribute to email marketing campaigns and online promotional activity.

Working Hours:

  • 3 days per week, 22.5 hours per week.
