An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly organised HR Officer to join a busy and collaborative professional services team within a leading academic environment in Oxford.
Reporting to the HR Manager, you’ll work closely with colleagues to deliver a comprehensive and efficient HR service across a varied workforce. This is a generalist role offering exposure to the full employee lifecycle and the chance to further develop your HR career in a fast-paced and rewarding setting.
Key responsibilities
Acting as the first point of contact for HR queries, providing guidance to managers and staff
Managing end-to-end recruitment processes, including advertising, shortlisting and onboarding
Drafting contracts and offer letters for employees and casual workers
Supporting payroll by processing monthly changes accurately and on time
Maintaining HR records and systems, ensuring data accuracy and compliance
Monitoring absence, probation periods, and fixed-term contracts
Supporting visa administration in line with current regulations
Delivering inductions for new starters
Contributing to HR projects, process improvements, and staff initiatives
About you
CIPD Level 3 qualified (or working towards)
Previous HR administration experience, including recruitment
Good understanding of employment law and HR best practice
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Customer-focused with a proactive approach
Confident using MS Office and able to learn new systems
Able to work independently and collaboratively
