Finance Manager

Stratford-upon-Avon area | Full time or part time hours considered

We're recruiting for a Financial Manager to join an ambitious and expanding organisation in the Stratford-upon-Avon area. This is a unique opportunity that combines an initial business-critical project with a long-term leadership role, giving you the chance to make your mark from day one.

You'll start by leading a review and restructuring of the company's balance sheet, helping to improve financial accuracy, strengthen controls, and create a solid platform for future growth. Once completed, you'll move into a broad Financial Manager position, taking ownership of management reporting, financial controls, cash flow, inventory accounting, and ongoing financial operations.

In return, you'll join a business that values expertise, supports continuous improvement, and offers genuine progression opportunities as the company continues to grow.

What You'll Be Doing:

Initial Project Phase

  • Lead a comprehensive review of the balance sheet
  • Reconcile accounts and investigate discrepancies
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial accuracy and reporting
  • Implement stronger reconciliation processes and financial controls
  • Provide recommendations and progress updates to senior leadership

Ongoing Financial Manager Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports
  • Deliver insightful variance analysis to support decision-making
  • Monitor cash flow and working capital performance
  • Maintain and enhance financial controls and reporting procedures
  • Take ownership of inventory accounting, stock valuation, and stock reconciliations
  • Oversee accounting processes relating to hire assets and asset tracking
  • Support month-end and year-end processes
  • Liaise with external accountants, auditors, banks, and other key stakeholders
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Drive process improvements across finance systems and reporting

About You

We're looking for an experienced finance professional who enjoys both hands-on accounting and process improvement.

You'll ideally have:

  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent experience
  • Previous experience in a senior accounting position
  • Strong balance sheet reconciliation and financial reporting experience
  • Experience producing management accounts within an SME environment
  • Solid inventory accounting and stock control knowledge
  • Advanced Excel skills and Sage experience
  • A proactive, analytical approach with excellent attention to detail
  • The confidence to work independently and drive positive change

What's On Offer?

  • Salary dependent on experience
  • Hybrid working available following successful completion of probation
  • Flexible working hours
  • Slightly reduced hours considered for the right candidate
  • Opportunity to lead a high-profile finance project from the outset
  • Growing business with ambitious plans and genuine career progression
  • Varied, commercially focused role with significant autonomy and influence

If you're looking for a position where you can improve processes, add real value, and develop your career alongside a successful and expanding business, we'd love to hear from you.

Please note that applications will only be considered from candidates with relevant experience and there is no sponsorship offered at this time.
