A leading international law firm is seeking an experienced Commercial Finance Manager to join its high-performing commercial finance team.

This is a pivotal role for a commercially astute finance professional who thrives on influencing decision-making, driving profitability and building credibility with senior stakeholders. You'll work directly with Partners and business leaders, providing commercial insight that helps shape pricing strategies, improve financial performance and support the firm's growth ambitions.

Please note: To be considered, you must have previous Commercial Finance Manager experience within a UK law firm.

The Role

Working at the heart of the business, you'll act as a trusted commercial adviser, helping leadership teams make informed and profitable decisions.

Key responsibilities include:

• Partnering with Practice Groups, Partners and senior leadership teams to drive profitability and commercial performance.
• Leading pricing strategy and commercial support for major client pitches, tenders, panel appointments and strategic opportunities.
• Developing sophisticated financial models, profitability analysis and business cases.
• Providing actionable commercial insight and recommendations to support decision-making.
• Challenging and influencing senior stakeholders to improve pricing discipline, matter management and financial outcomes.
• Delivering training and coaching across the business on pricing, profitability and commercial best practice.
• Supporting strategic projects and transformation initiatives across the firm.
• Mentoring and developing junior team members.

What We're Looking For

Essential Experience

• Proven experience as a Commercial Finance Manager within a UK law firm is essential
• Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to build relationships and influence senior Partners and business leaders.
• Strong understanding of legal sector economics, profitability drivers and pricing methodologies.
• Advanced financial modelling and commercial analysis capabilities.
• Experience translating complex financial data into clear, commercially focused recommendations.
• Confidence challenging and influencing senior decision-makers.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced professional services environment.

Desirable

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified or Qualified by experience. 
• Experience supporting strategic bids, tenders and panel appointments.
• Previous coaching or leadership experience.
