Commercial Office Manager

Are you a driven and proactive people leader who thrives on improving processes, developing teams, and driving operational excellence?

We are seeking an ambitious Commercial Office Manager to lead our busy B2B office function, overseeing customer service, order processing, and day-to-day office operations. This is a key leadership role within the business and offers the opportunity to make a genuine impact on business performance, customer experience, and future growth.

This position goes far beyond office administration. We are looking for someone who can bring structure, accountability, and continuous improvement to a well-established team while helping the business evolve through technology, systems enhancements, and operational efficiencies.

The Role

As Commercial Office Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the commercial office function, whilst leading, motivating, and developing a team dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service.

You will work closely with Sales, Operations, Purchasing, and Finance, ensuring effective communication across departments, resolving issues quickly, and implementing improvements that drive both customer satisfaction and commercial success.

A key focus of the role will be supporting the business through its transition to Microsoft Dynamics Business Central, alongside the ongoing development of CRM systems and business processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate, coach, and develop the office team to achieve high levels of performance and engagement.
  • Oversee customer service and order processing activities, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and service excellence.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across key business processes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and streamline workflow.
  • Support and drive business change initiatives, including systems implementation and process transformation.
  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and service delivery.
  • Monitor performance, establish KPIs, and create accountability across the team.
  • Analyse operational challenges and implement practical, scalable solutions.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement throughout the business.
  • Support the ongoing development and optimisation of business systems and technology.

Ideal Experience & Skills

  • Proven experience managing and developing office-based teams.
  • Strong leadership and people management capabilities.
  • Experience within customer service, commercial operations, sales support, or order processing environments.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to balance customer needs and business objectives.
  • Experience creating and implementing processes, procedures, and operational improvements.
  • Confidence managing change and driving business improvement initiatives.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Systems-focused mindset with confidence adopting and improving technology solutions.
  • Experience with ERP or CRM systems, ideally Microsoft Dynamics Business Central, would be advantageous.
