• Job Type: Temporary, Full or Part-time
• Shifts: 5:30 AM - 9:30 AM and 11:30 AM - 4:00 PM (Choose one for part-time or both for full-time)

Join our team as a School Cleaner, playing a crucial role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. This position involves various cleaning duties across our sites, working under the direction of the wider Estates team to ensure high standards of cleanliness at all times.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Undertake general cleaning duties in public, office, and departmental areas, including vacuuming, surface maintenance, sweeping, mopping, and cleaning internal glass.
• Clean toilets using specialist equipment and undertake deep cleaning/sanitising duties as directed.
• Remove waste following group waste and recycling procedures.
• Use cleaning products and materials according to training and instructions.
• Coordinate stock flow and use tools and equipment as trained, reporting any faults to the wider Estates team.
• Report any health and safety or security issues encountered during cleaning tasks.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Ability to clean various areas to a high standard, including classrooms, corridors, toilets, offices, and communal areas.
• Knowledge of cleaning products and equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and good time management skills.
• Ability to work independently, reliably, and punctually.
• Good communication skills and awareness of health and safety procedures.
• Physical fitness to carry out manual cleaning tasks.
• Desirable: COSHH awareness or training, Health and Safety training, and qualifications in Cleaning and Support Services (e.g., Level 1 or 2 Cleaning Principles).
• Experience using cleaning machinery such as floor polishers or vacuum cleaners is advantageous.
