Manchester City Council are seeking a temporary Business Support Officer to join their team. This role involves managing the paperwork and communication related to the statutory assessment process. The ideal candidate will be the primary point of contact for parents and schools, ensuring timely updates and accurate information management. This position requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
Day-to-day of the role:
Receive and collate all paperwork relating to the statutory assessment process, including contacting other agencies for required information.
Serve as the first key contact for parents and schools, confirming receipt of key information related to the statutory process.
Respond to inquiries from schools and parents both verbally and in writing, providing timely updates at key points in the statutory process.
Prepare and send out information to parents and schools, including decision letters and amendments to plans.
Update and extract information from management information systems accurately, including the retrieval and collation of appeal paperwork.
Procure, monitor, and maintain office equipment in line with procedures, budgets, and agreed timescales.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
This role requires an Enhanced DBS.
Proven experience in administrative roles, preferably within a similar setting.
Excellent communication skills, capable of dealing with queries both written and verbal with tact and diplomacy.
Ability to use initiative and established procedures to resolve queries at the first point of contact or escalate when appropriate.
Competence in managing and extracting information from management information systems.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to complete documentation and correspondence accurately to a high standard.
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders to enhance the role of business support.
