Responsibilities of this role:
Support the Team Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operation of the Early Help Support & Protection Team.
Provide practice leadership, supervision, and guidance to social workers and family support staff to ensure high-quality interventions and positive outcomes for children and families.
Ensure all work is child-centred, strengths-based, and compliant with statutory frameworks, including Working Together to Safeguard Children.
Assist in managing caseload allocation, workflow, and performance monitoring, ensuring timescales and service standards are met.
Lead on complex cases, providing advice, decision-making oversight, and risk management.
Support audits, quality assurance processes, and continuous improvement initiatives to maintain high standards of practice.
Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners, including education, health, police, and voluntary services to deliver coordinated support.
Contribute to service development, embedding early help strategies and preventative approaches within the team.
Deputise for the Team Manager when required, including chairing meetings and representing the service.
Promote a culture of learning, reflective practice, and professional development within the team.
Requirements of this role:
Must be a Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England
Must have minimum of 3 years post qualifying social work experience
