Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised School Administrator to join a friendly primary school in Northwich on a temporary basis until the end of the summer term. The successful candidate must have prior school-based administrative experience and be confident working in a fast-paced educational environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide efficient administrative support to the school office
Act as the first point of contact for visitors, parents, and staff
Manage incoming calls, emails, and general enquiries
Maintain accurate pupil records and school databases (e.g. SIMS or equivalent)
Handle attendance records and reporting procedures
Support admissions, leavers, and general pupil administration
Assist with safeguarding processes, ensuring compliance with policies
Manage correspondence, including letters, newsletters, and reports
Support senior leadership team with ad hoc administrative tasks
Maintain confidentiality and data protection standards at all times
Essential Requirements
Proven experience working in a school office environment (essential)
Strong knowledge of school systems such as SIMS, Arbor, or similar
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
Understanding of safeguarding procedures in education settings
Desirable Skills
Previous experience in a primary school setting
Experience supporting attendance and pupil data management
Knowledge of school policies and procedures
