Role Overview
My client is seeking a detail-oriented and organised Bookkeeper with strong experience using Sage 200 to manage day-to-day financial transactions. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with internal procedures, and supporting the wider finance function.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate financial records using Sage 200
Process purchase and sales invoices, ensuring correct coding and timely entry
Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
Manage accounts payable and receivable functions
Prepare and submit VAT returns in line with HMRC regulations
Monitor cash flow and assist with forecasting
Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
Reconcile supplier and customer statements
Manage payroll data and liaise with payroll providers if required
Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures
Support audit processes by providing necessary documentation
Produce financial reports as required by management
Key Skills & Experience
Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar finance role
Strong working knowledge of Sage 200 (desirable)
Good understanding of accounting principles and practices
Experience with VAT returns and UK financial regulations
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organisational and time-management skills
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications
