We are seeking an Accounts Supervisor to join a small Finance team, initially on a 3-month Temporary basis, with the possibility of extension if successful. This role is based on client premises in Abingdon and offers the opportunity to take control of a range of AP & AR processes, assisting with a backlog and putting in place new processes that will help structure the immediate future. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, this position requires a proactive individual with a strong background in both Accounts Payable and Receivable oversight.
Day-to-day of the role:
Implement a structured monthly schedule for payments, invoice entries, bank reconciliations, and remittances.
Drive continuous improvement in processes and systems.
Accounts Payable Oversight:
Review key accounts and address historical discrepancies.
Organise regular payment runs, ensuring all invoices are captured and processed accurately.
Maintain strong supplier relationships and manage payment terms effectively.
Accounts Receivable Oversight:
Manage the credit control function to ensure timely cash collection.
Review aged debt reports and work towards reducing overdue balances.
Address escalated customer queries and disputes, and assist in clearing historical balances.
Controls, Reporting & Process Improvement:
Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial procedures.
Lead month-end close activities for Accounts Payable and Receivable.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Highly computer literate with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP/finance systems.
Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills to manage high-volume transactional data.
Ability to communicate confidently at all levels of the organisation, including with senior stakeholders.
Experience in supporting international operations or multiple sites is advantageous.
