Warehouse Supervisor – Rochester, Kent
The Warehouse Supervisor is the operational lead for the daytime shift at our Rochester warehouse. Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, you'll take responsibility for daily performance, quality, safety, and team management, ensuring smooth operations from shift start through to handover.
This is a hands-on leadership role. You'll work alongside the team while supervising day-to-day activity, allocating tasks, maintaining standards, training staff, resolving issues, and driving productivity. You'll also support operational improvements and team development as part of a growing warehouse leadership team.
Key Responsibilities
Shift Leadership
- Lead the 8:00am–4:30pm Monday–Friday shift.
- Manage the morning briefing, task allocation, workflow, and daily handover.
- Act as the senior operational lead on site until the Warehouse Manager arrives.
Warehouse Operations
- Oversee goods-in processes, ensuring deliveries are received, checked, and stored accurately.
- Ensure orders across all sales channels (Amazon FBM, eBay, Shopify, B&Q, TikTok) are picked, packed, and dispatched accurately and on time.
- Manage FBA shipments, palletisation, labelling, and carrier collections, including EU and overflow storage shipments.
People Management
- Supervise a team of approximately 14 warehouse operatives.
- Deliver daily briefings, allocate work, coach staff, and maintain high performance standards.
- Train and onboard new employees, ensuring consistency in processes, quality, and safety.
Standards, Compliance & Improvement
- Enforce SOPs and contribute ideas for process improvements.
- Ensure health and safety compliance, including manual handling standards, daily checks, and incident reporting.
- Track and support achievement of operational KPIs.
Sunday On-Call Rotation
- Participate in an every-other-week Sunday on-call rota with the Warehouse Manager.
- £30 on-call allowance per Sunday.
- Activated time paid at 1.5x hourly rate, with a minimum one-hour payment.
Success in the First Six Months
- Running the daytime operation confidently and independently.
- Delivering and reporting on key performance measures consistently.
- Improving standards in quality, safety, and professionalism.
- Supporting a structured onboarding and training programme.
- Building strong relationships across the warehouse team.
- Contributing to operational improvements that are implemented within the business.
You'll have:
- 3+ years' warehouse supervisory experience within e-commerce, fulfilment, or 3PL operations.
- Experience managing teams of 8+ warehouse operatives.
- Knowledge of Amazon FBA and FBM fulfilment processes.
- Experience using warehouse management systems (Linnworks desirable).
- Strong understanding of warehouse health and safety practices.
- Forklift Counterbalance or Reach licence, or willingness to gain certification.

- £32,000–£35,000 basic salary (depending on experience)
- Performance bonus of up to 8%
