Warehouse Manager – Greater Glasgow

 Lead Operations. Drive Performance. Make an Impact.

We are looking for a hands-on Warehouse Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of three busy warehouses. Reporting directly to the Company Directors, this is an exciting opportunity for an experienced warehouse professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys leading teams, improving processes, and delivering exceptional service to customers.

This is a key leadership role where you will be empowered to take ownership of warehouse operations, transport coordination, health & safety compliance, and team development.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operations of three warehouse facilities.
  • Lead, motivate and support a small team of Warehouse Operators.
  • Ensure all customer orders are picked, packed and dispatched accurately and on time.
  • Oversee incoming container deliveries, unloading activities, and stock placement within warehouse racking.
  • Arrange additional transport and logistics solutions for customer pallet deliveries when required.
  • Continuously review and reconfigure warehouse layouts to maximise efficiency and support business growth.
  • Recruit, train, develop and mentor warehouse staff.
  • Conduct performance reviews, disciplinary meetings and employee development plans.
  • Maintain exceptional housekeeping standards across all warehouse locations.
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers and manage operational costs within budget.
  • Manage stock integrity and reconcile inventory systems following annual stock takes.
  • Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company policies.
  • Take ownership of warehouse equipment, forklifts, counterbalance trucks and all company vans.
  • Coordinate maintenance schedules, inspections, servicing and legal compliance requirements.
  • Ensure all company vehicles remain road legal, including MOTs, taxation and timely repairs.
  • Support future shipment planning and forecasting activities.
  • Create and maintain warehouse checklists, stock location sheets and operational reporting using Excel.

 

About You

We're looking for someone who combines strong leadership skills with a practical, hands-on approach.

You will have:

  • Previous experience in a Warehouse Manager or Senior Warehouse Supervisor role.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent stock control and inventory management experience.
  • A solid understanding of warehouse operations, logistics and transport coordination.
  • Good knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and best practices.
  • Experience managing budgets and controlling operational costs.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Excel and warehouse management systems.
  • The ability to work proactively, prioritise workloads and drive continuous improvement.
  • Forklift/Counterbalance experience is essential.
  • Full Uk Driving Licence is essential.
