Reed Accountancy & Finance are delighted to be working with a leading Bromley/South East London based accountancy practice, to support them with their search to hire a new Tax Accountant. This role is new, which has been created purely through the increased volume of work that the firm is experiencing, and due to it’s pro-active expanding and organic growth. The business has a track record of supporting ambitious and aspiring accountants, and has a very supportive and nurturing environment.

Reporting into the Managing Partner, as the newly appointed Tax Accountant, you will be responsible for managing their growing personal tax department. With their client base mainly consisting of SMEs, you will have a focus on self assessment tax returns.

As the new Tax Accountant, your duties and responsibilities will include :

  • Managing your own client base
  • Preparing and submitting self assessment tax returns for a portfolio of individuals, sole traders and Company Directors.
  • Accurately calculate income tax, Capital Gains Tax (CGT), and National Insurance liabilities
  • Review client financial information including employment income (P60s, P11Ds), dividend income, investment income.
  • Provide guidance to clients on personal tax planning opportunities, including tax-efficient use of allowances and reliefs, pension contributions and capital gains planning. 
  • Assisting in the roll out of making tax digital for sole traders.

To be considered for the role of Tax Accountant at our client, your experience, skillsets and experience will include.

  • Proven experience of working within a UK based accountancy practice.
  • Previous experience of preparing and signing off high volumes of personal tax returns.
  • Qualified or part qualified ATT or CTA is preferred, but would consider the right person qualified through experience or ACCA/ICA qualified/part qualified. 
  • Previous experience of using relevant tax/accounting software preferred, but our client will provide training and development if needed.

Our client is close to public transport links and also offers free car parking. The role holder will attend the office 5 days a week, and 1 day a week working remotely will be offered on successful completion of probation.
