We are seeking a Street Scene Operations Manager to lead and manage a multi-disciplined team dedicated to delivering a high standard of operational services. This role is crucial in supporting the Council’s cleaner, greener agenda and ensuring that Doncaster thrives as a city. The successful candidate will work closely with key partners and provide expert advice to maintain high service standards that comply with relevant legislation.
Day-to-day of the role:
Provide strong leadership to operational teams, contributing significantly to the development and implementation of strategic visions, ensuring impactful service delivery within Doncaster’s neighbourhoods and communities.
Manage the development and implementation of responsive service standards to maintain high-level service across the Borough.
Efficiently manage staff and resources to meet service targets while balancing team relationships to enhance service delivery.
Lead successful operational projects that improve service quality and ensure value for money.
Oversee service planning and performance management for the Street Scene service, producing accurate reports and records for seamless service improvements.
Prioritise service delivery needs to effectively use resources to meet corporate performance targets.
Engage and communicate with external stakeholders, politicians, and partners to build successful partnerships and maintain positive relationships.
Analyse complex issues and provide practical and creative solutions, keeping all stakeholders updated on changes.
Manage the service budget effectively to ensure cost-efficient service delivery.
Ensure all Street Scene activities comply with the Council’s Health and Safety policies and legislation.
Participate actively in emergency situations, supporting the Emergency Planning team and participating in the Council’s standby arrangements, including winter maintenance and 24/7 standby cover.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Level 5 qualification in Management.
Proven experience in leading, motivating, and inspiring customer-facing, multi-discipline teams.
