We are looking for someone to administer the Council’s process for handling Freedom of Information requests, and assisting with the investigation of complaints. The ideal candidate will be a quick learner with extensive experience of analysing and interpreting information, and a commitment to innovation and best practice. They should confident to communicate effectively with a broad range of internal and external customers, and have experience handing sensitive and difficult enquiries from members of the public.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
To administer the Council’s process for handling Freedom of Information requests, including the logging of requests and collation of responses.
To assist with investigation of complaints made to the Chief Executive.
To support the Corporate Secretariat Manager with the provision of specialist advice and support to directorates in meeting their responsibilities under the Freedom of Information Act and the corporate complaints policy.
Information Governance Officer
Preparation of FOI response following contributions from other teams in the council.
Managing FOI contributions in line with legislations.
Conducting internal reviews in relation to information governance requests.
Responding and managing and ICO complaints/referrals made against the council.
General advice in relation to information governance and data protection.
Ideally candidates experienced in using ecase.
Key Details:
Pay: PAYE £34.35 per hour or Umbrella £45.00 per hour
