We are seeking a Senior Business Support Officer to join our team, providing essential support across various business processes and information systems. This role is crucial for maintaining efficient operations and delivering high-quality service within our organisation.
Day-to-day of the role:
Information Systems
Maintain and assist with the development of information systems and related procedures.
Input, maintain, locate, and retrieve data using both computerised and manual systems.
Handle communications via email, manage incoming and outgoing mail, and ensure the production of quality documents using a range of IT applications.
Support to Meetings and Events
Arrange and manage logistics for meetings and events, including diary management.
Support and take accurate records during complex meetings.
Produce, verify, and dispatch information within agreed deadlines.
Purchase Goods and Services
Order, store, and distribute goods and services following established procedures.
Process claims for payment and handle orders/invoices through to payment using established IT systems.
Manage petty cash and bank income, maintain financial recording systems, and book facilities for meetings and travel.
Customer Service and Communications
Provide a positive impression of the organisation to customers.
Deliver effective and efficient service to telephone enquirers and personal callers.
Manage manual and electronic messages and mail according to corporate guidelines.
Service Delivery
Contribute to the effectiveness of the service area by planning and organising workloads.
Identify and address training and development needs in line with service targets.
Enhance working relationships with team members, staff, external organisations, and the public.
Adhere to all current council policies and procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience in administrative roles, preferably within a similar setting.
Proficiency in using IT systems for data management and financial processes.
Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work with diverse groups.
