Due to continued growth, we are recruiting an experienced Practice Senior Accountant to join their talented, supportive and ambitious team.

This is a superb opportunity for a well-rounded practice professional who enjoys working across a varied client portfolio rather than being confined to a specialist area. You'll have the chance to work closely with clients, build trusted relationships and play a key role in supporting their financial success.

The responsibilities of this vital role of senior Practice Accountant-

  • Preparing year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies to FRS 102 Section 1A.
  • Acting as business partner to clients, providing practical accounting, taxation and business advisory services
  • Preparing and submitting; corporate and self-assessment tax and VAT returns
  • Creating and maintaining solid client relationships and responding to queries professionally
  • Maintaining accurate client records using Xero, Sage and QuickBooks
  • Supporting and mentoring junior team members
  • Ensuring compliance with current legislation and professional standards
  • Assisting with payroll and audit assignments where required

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • ACA or ACCA qualification
  • Proven experience working within an accountancy practice working to UK regulations specifically FRS 102 Section A, undertaking tasks as listed in the job description
  • Good working knowledge of VAT; an understanding of payroll would be a benefit
  • Experience using Xero, Sage, QuickBooks or similar cloud-based accounting software

  • The ability to manage your own workload and meet deadlines
  • A positive, collaborative approach and willingness to support colleagues
  • The skill to adjust your communication according to your audience be it a trainee or senior business partner, and to relay financial information clearly to those not trained in finance.
