We are currently seeking 2 experienced SEN Teaching Assistants / HLTAs to join our team from September, supporting young people across Hertfordshire in both education and alternative provision settings.
This is a rewarding, hands-on role working with pupils with SEND and SEMH needs, including 1:1 mentoring and support both on-site and in community-based activities such as farm projects and alternative learning environments as examples.
The Role
Provide 1:1 and small group support to young people with SEND/SEMH needs
Transport pupils to and from agreed locations (e.g. school sites, learning provisions, outdoor activities)
Support engagement in learning, behaviour management and emotional regulation
Potential opportunity to support at sites in Stevenage and Hitchin
Essential Requirements
Minimum 1 year’s experience working with SEND and/or SEMH pupils
Based in Hertfordshire (able to travel across the county)
Full UK driving licence with business insurance
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (child workforce essential; child & adult preferred)
Right to work in the UK
Ability to provide 2 professional references
Up-to-date safeguarding training
Basic / Emergency First Aid certification
Additional Requirements
Willingness to undergo Health & Safety training (funded for the right candidate)
Full disclosure of any previous offences prior to interview (for safeguarding risk assessment)
Ability to provide all safer recruitment documentation in advance of interview

HLTA status or equivalent experience
Experience in alternative provision or outreach mentoring
Strong behaviour management skills
Confident working independently in community settings
