SEN TA Position

  • Job Type: Full-time, Temp to Perm
  • Location: Liverpool
  • Salary: £22,000 - £24,000 (when permanent)

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our specialist school catering to primary and secondary students, focusing on supporting children with ADHD and autism. This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a difference in special education and who has experience working with children. Our school offers a bespoke curriculum in a very nurturing environment without sanctions, emphasizing positive support.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Provide tailored support to primary and secondary students with ADHD and autism, focusing on their individual learning needs and sensory sensitivities.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students.
  • Work closely with teachers and other specialists to facilitate communication and sensory integration therapies.
  • Monitor and support the student's progress and adapt approaches based on their evolving needs.
  • Engage with students in both one-on-one and group settings, fostering a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Assist in the use of assistive technology and other educational tools to enhance learning experiences.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience working with children, preferably in a special education setting.
  • Understanding of ADHD, autism, and related communication and sensory challenges.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a dedicated approach to student development.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals.
