Part Time (with the potential for Full Time for candidates able to teach Economics)

Salary: MPS/UPS (Full Time Equivalent), dependent on experience

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and inspiring Teacher of Psychology to join our successful sixth form provision in Reading.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate teacher to deliver high-quality Psychology lessons and support students in achieving outstanding outcomes. The successful candidate will be committed to fostering a positive learning environment, promoting academic excellence and encouraging students to develop a genuine interest in the subject.

The position is offered on a part-time basis; however, full-time hours may be available for applicants who are also able to teach Economics.

About the Role

The successful candidate will:

  • Teach Psychology at Key Stage 5.
  • Plan and deliver engaging, challenging and inclusive lessons.
  • Monitor, assess and track student progress effectively.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment activities.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Support students' personal and academic development.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Has the ability to teach Psychology effectively at A Level.
  • Demonstrates excellent subject knowledge and a passion for education.
  • Has high expectations of student achievement and behaviour.
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
  • Can also teach Economics (desirable for those seeking a full-time role).
