We are seeking an English Lecturer to join a vibrant college in South London. This role is available on a temporary or permanent basis, with options for full-time or part-time hours. The ideal candidate will be passionate about English literature and language and committed to delivering high-quality education to students.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Deliver engaging lectures and seminars in English literature and language to a diverse group of students.
- Prepare course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts.
- Evaluate and grade students' class work, assignments, and papers.
- Maintain student attendance records, grades, and other required records.
- Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions.
- Keep abreast of developments in the field by reading current literature, talking with colleagues, and participating in professional conferences.
- Advise students on academic and vocational curricula and on career issues.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- A degree in English, Literature, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an English Lecturer or in a similar educational role.
- Strong understanding of the curriculum and teaching methods for English.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to inspire and enthuse students.
- Flexibility to work either full-time or part-time, and on a temporary or permanent basis.
