Revenue Manager

Reed is delighted to be partnering with a leading organisation to recruit a Revenue Manager. This is a key position responsible for driving the effective management of Work in Progress (WIP), billing, and cash collection across the business.

The Role

Our client is looking for a commercially minded and detail-oriented professional to take ownership of revenue processes and ensure strong financial control. You will work closely with fee earners, Heads of Department, and senior finance stakeholders to maximise cash collection, improve processes, and ensure accurate financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and actively manage WIP levels, liaising with fee earners and senior stakeholders to drive timely billing and cash conversion
  • Deliver a high-quality billing and collections service, ensuring efficiency and continuous improvement of processes
  • Produce timely and accurate reporting on debt and WIP, providing meaningful insights to senior leadership and Board-level stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with the firm’s billing policies and procedures
  • Manage billing write-offs, escalating material issues to senior finance leadership (Head of Financial Operations, Director, CFO)
  • Support group cashflow forecasting activities
  • Collaborate with IT and finance systems teams to enhance reporting capabilities and strengthen controls
  • Contribute to finance systems implementations and development of reporting for WIP and debtors
  • Complete monthly reconciliation of debtors to control accounts across multiple systems within agreed deadlines
  • Lead and develop the Billing and Credit Control teams, fostering accountability and high performance
  • Support team growth through structured development plans, succession planning, and recruitment
  • Continuously review and improve end-to-end WIP and credit management processes as the business scales

  • Experience within a billing and credit control environment
  • Strong reconciliation and financial analysis skills
  • Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
  • Strong communication skills, with the confidence to challenge where appropriate
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work on own initiative
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • A continuous improvement mindset

Desirable:

  • Understanding of SRA regulations and regulatory environment
  • Relevant financial qualification, or equivalent experience
