Day-to-day duties of the role:
Source and procure aircraft components to support inventory growth and meet customer demand.
Research the global aviation marketplace to proactively identify purchasing opportunities and explore alternative sources of supply.
Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations, negotiating competitive pricing and commercial terms.
Monitor stock levels, market demand, pricing trends and industry developments to identify opportunities and anticipate future requirements.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, distributors, and aviation vendors worldwide.
Utilize company systems and resources effectively to source, evaluate, and price material competitively.
Monitor purchase orders and supplier commitments to ensure on-time delivery.
Complete supplier account applications and maintain accurate supplier records.
Update and maintain Quantum with supplier quotations, pricing information, market intelligence, and part notes.
Work closely with Sales, Logistics, Finance, and Technical departments to maximise profitability and support customer requirements.
Assist in the collection and analysis of purchasing data and market trends to improve sourcing strategies, supplier performance, and inventory management.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Strong commercial awareness with an understanding of aviation purchasing, supply chain management, and inventory control.
Confident communicator with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships.
Resourceful and proactive approach to sourcing material and identifying commercial opportunities.
Good negotiation skills and the confidence to challenge and explore alternatives.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Competent in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word.
Experience using ERP or inventory management systems; experience with Quantum is advantageous.
Ability to analyse market data, supplier performance, pricing trends, and inventory requirements.
Understanding of aviation component sourcing and stock management principles is advantageous.
Full UK driving licence and own transport required.
