We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Production Manager to join our senior management team during a period of significant growth. With ambitious plans and projects on the horizon, we seek an enthusiastic, hands-on leader who can inspire, build strong relationships, and elevate our operations.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Manage the daily operations of the packing station, including overseeing goods in and the production team, ensuring products are packed and delivered to precise specifications.
  • Plan and oversee production schedules, shift rotas, and manage staff attendance and absences.
  • Schedule machine maintenance and manage engineering tasks, including the procurement of necessary tools and parts.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and stakeholders regarding supply issues or delays.
  • Provide comprehensive briefings to the management team about raw material availability and production challenges.
  • Conduct stocktakes and compile end-of-month reports.
  • Oversee the induction process for new team members and coordinate ongoing training to ensure all staff adhere to safety protocols and are proficient in their roles.
  • Participate in recruitment, HR, and disciplinary processes.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and appraisals.
  • Host visitors and assist the technical manager during audits.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven people-management experience, ideally within the food production, manufacturing, or logistics sectors.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of engaging with team members, customers, suppliers, and senior management effectively.
  • Positive and motivational leadership style with a practical, can-do attitude.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to remain calm and efficient in a high-pressure environment.
  • Proficiency in using IT systems and Microsoft Office for managing information, reports, and communications.
  • Hands-on approach, with a commitment to being highly visible and credible on the shop floor.
  • Approachable, fair, and consistent, with the confidence to make informed decisions and conduct honest conversations.
