Are you a Production or Operations leader from the Food Manufacturing or wider FMCG sector looking for an opportunity to significantly shape the future of a growing international business at the top level? 

 

This long-running business supplies specialist ingredients to food manufacturers across the globe. They’ve seen significant financial success and have invested in international expansion, with plans in place to further develop their operations, people and product lines. 

 

In this role you will lead production operations in the UK as well as having oversight of their facility overseas, taking ownership of performance, culture, people development and operational excellence. You’ll also play a key role in creating greater consistency across sites and implementing a range of improvements that support long-term growth. 

 

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading food manufacturing or similar FMCG operations and significantly improving performance by nurturing talent and developing staff, transforming culture, strengthening processes and fostering collaboration.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Leading production operations in the UK and overseas (1-2 week trips to the USA every 2-3 months)

• Developing a culture of quality, collaboration and continuous improvement 

• Coaching and developing production staff to build capability and creating succession plans for the future 

• Pursuing improvements in operational performance, efficiency, productivity and communication across sites 

• Working closely with Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain & other stakeholders 

• Identifying root causes of issues and implementing corrective actions 

• Championing company growth plans and manufacturing projects 

 

The ideal person will have:

• Senior Production or Operations leadership experience in the FMCG sector – ideally Food Manufacturing
• A proven track record of improving performance and standards 
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams (Production, Quality, Engineering etc) and ideally multi-site teams
• Excellent leadership and coaching skills 
• Experience implementing positive cultural and operational change 
• The ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels 
• Willingness to undertake regular international travel
