Are you an experienced procurement professional looking for your next opportunity?

A well-established manufacturing business in Folkestone is seeking a driven and organised Procurement Coordinator / Procurement Officer to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced procurement professional to play a vital role in supporting business operations, supplier relationships, and stock management within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The Role

Reporting into the Supply Chain / Operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring materials and products are sourced efficiently, cost-effectively, and delivered on time to support production requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing the procurement of raw materials, components, and consumables
  • Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships
  • Raising and processing purchase orders accurately and efficiently
  • Negotiating pricing, lead times, and supplier contracts
  • Monitoring inventory levels and coordinating stock replenishment
  • Working closely with production, warehouse, and planning teams
  • Identifying cost-saving opportunities and process improvements
  • Resolving supplier issues and delivery discrepancies
  • Producing procurement reports and maintaining accurate records

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous experience within a Procurement, Purchasing, or Supply Chain role
  • Experience working within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
  • Excellent organisational and planning abilities
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach

Desirable:

  • CIPS qualification or studying towards CIPS
  • Experience with stock control and inventory management
  • Knowledge of manufacturing supply chains and procurement best practices
