Year 3 Class Teacher

Working Pattern: Thursday & Friday
Hours: Full days each week
Phase: Key Stage 2 – Year 3

We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and committed Year 3 Class Teacher to join our school team on a part-time basis, working Thursday and Friday each week. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning, supporting pupil progress, and creating a positive, inclusive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons in line with the Year 3 curriculum.
  • Create a stimulating and inclusive learning environment where all pupils can thrive.
  • Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress, using this information to inform planning and next steps.
  • Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND, EAL, and more able pupils.
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour, achievement, and engagement.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and parents/carers to support pupil progress and wellbeing.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school and uphold its values and ethos.
  • Prepare pupils for the next stage of their learning through effective teaching and strong classroom practice.

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching within a primary school setting, preferably within Key Stage 2.
  • Strong subject knowledge across the primary curriculum, particularly in Year 3.
  • Ability to plan and deliver creative, effective lessons that meet the needs of all learners.
  • Excellent classroom management and behaviour management skills.
  • Strong assessment and organisational skills.
  • A reflective, flexible, and proactive approach to teaching.
  • Commitment to safeguarding, pupil wellbeing, and raising standards.

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience teaching Year 3 or lower Key Stage 2.
  • Experience supporting pupils with a range of additional needs.
  • Experience working collaboratively with teaching assistants and support staff.
  • Knowledge of current primary curriculum developments and assessment practices.
