We are seeking a caring, committed and skilled 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a child joining our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) in September.
This rewarding role will involve working closely with a little girl who has:
Significant speech, language and social communication needs
Sensory processing and emotional regulation difficulties
Medical and physical needs, including being PEG fed
You will play a vital part in helping her access learning, develop communication skills, and feel safe, supported and included within the school environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 support within Pre-school/EYFS/KS1 provision
Support communication, emotional regulation and social interaction
Assist with medical care, including PEG feeding (training will be provided if required)
Work closely with teachers, SENDCo, therapists and external professionals
Adapt activities and learning to meet the child’s individual needs
Promote independence, wellbeing and inclusion
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience working in Pre-school/EYFS settings
Previous experience supporting children with complex needs, particularly speech and language or social communication difficulties
A medical background, or experience supporting children with medical needs (desirable)
A willingness to learn and undertake specialist training, including medical procedures
A calm, patient and nurturing approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
