We are currently working with a wonderful primary school based in Morecambe. the school are looking to appoint a qualified and experienced HLTA to join them on a full time basis for the Academic year.
Purpose of the Role
To support teaching and learning across the school by working collaboratively with teaching staff, delivering lessons when required, and providing targeted support to individuals and groups of pupils. The HLTA takes responsibility for agreed learning activities and may lead whole-class sessions in the absence of a teacher.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching and Learning
Plan, prepare, and deliver learning activities for individuals, small groups, and whole classes under teacher guidance.
Cover classes during teacher absence (short-term supervision).
Monitor, assess, and record pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers.
Adapt learning activities to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and EAL learners.
Support the development of pupils’ literacy, numeracy, and social skills.
Pupil Support
Promote inclusion and equal opportunities for all pupils.
Support pupils with additional needs, implementing EHCP targets or support plans.
Encourage positive behaviour in line with school policy.
Provide pastoral support and help maintain a safe and supportive learning environment.
Curriculum Support
Assist in the development of teaching resources and lesson materials.
